The Gopinaths step out of their comfort zone

Gopi and Adi, a father son duo from the US are on a visit to India and choose to volunteer at Ladakh with the Foundation. Despite being a little apprehensive about travelling and staying in remote areas, they are eager to contribute to the cause.

After their mandatory training and orientation at the 17000 ftoffice in Leh, they are assigned two schools in the Kharu block of Ladakh at an altitude of over 13,000 ft. Both these schools have under 25 children each and the two spend a week in these schools, accompanied by our facilitator.

They mission is to setup and implement the Library Programs in each school, conducting Reading Program activities and training the teachers along with our 17000ft facilitators. Despite being completely out of their comfort zones, the two are fantastic voluntourists and come away endearing themselves to the kids as well as helping us setup two more of our 100 Libraries for Ladakh Project.

Thank you, both for your time spent at these remote villages.
