The Voluntourists who stayed on

The Mirandas decide to spend their family vacation together voluntouring with the 17000 ft Foundation. No strangers to volunteering, the decision to forgo their vacation in favour of conducting workshops at schools came very easily.

They are allotted 7 schools across 3 blocks of Leh District to conduct various programs. Spread over the next 20 days, the group travel from village to village, spending a few days at each school, ranging their travel from the Nubra Valley, to the remote Changthang areas to also the nearby Leh and Kharu blocks.

Their mission varies from school to school. They establish the 17000ft Library Program in a few schools, conduct the 17000ft Reading Program in a few others, and also conduct the 17000ft Art and Science Workshops. The group, along with the 17000ft facilitators also trains teachers and instructs them on the Library Management System.

The family is so inspired by the work of the Foundation, that not only do they come back to volunteer again the next year individually, but they are active brand ambassadors of our work, and the best part, are now formally on the board of 17000ft!

Thank you, Mirandas! You have been our ideal Voluntourists!
