Headquartered in Gurgaon, 17000 ft Foundation today operates in two Himalayan States/UTs, across 4 of its remotest districts and has Field Offices in Leh (Ladakh), Kargil (Ladakh) and Gangtok (Sikkim) 17000ft works to improve the access and quality of education in remote mountain hamlets, so as to ensure that no child is ever forced to leave their home for want of good education. 17000ft has today transformed education in 250+ remote Govt. Schools, benefiting over 50,000 children. 17000ft projects range from upgrading school infrastructure, providing better learning resources, mobilizing communities, building the capacity of teachers and bringing in improvement in pedagogies to improve education.

JOB PROFILE
17000ft implements many programs targeted at improving access to education and improving the quality of education for children in 250+ remote Govt. schools across Ladakh and UT, covering 4 districts. Program level information from across these locations is collected in offline forms and stored on the cloud, which is maintained at the Head Office, situated in Gurgaon, Haryana. 17000ft is looking for a professional with process monitoring, research and analysis experience to strengthen their management information systems (MIS) and improve the quality and presentation of program data that is collected and shared from the field. You will be responsible for managing and improving the 17000ft MIS, designing and developing process monitoring/data collection tools, conducting trainings of 17000ft field personnel, ensuring timely collection of data, and periodic analysis and review of program improvement. You will work closely with the Executive Management and Program Directors to design strong monitoring frameworks for programs, strengthen MIS systems and provide leadership and technical support on research processes. The position will be based in Gurgaon, with travel to Ladakh and/or Sikkim as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBIILITY
MIS, M&E Systems strengthening and reporting

  • Work closely with Executive leadership to develop, implement and manage a process monitoring and evaluation system for 17000ft’s programs across Ladakh and Sikkim
  • Develop M&E data collection tools, program metrics and data collection system, analysis and dissemination plans for use by 17000ft teams
  • Train staff teams on implementation of the reporting tools and M&E systems
  • Assist the Program Team in bi-annual and annual program reviews and drafting of annual reports
  • Work closely with external vendors to design, build, manage and fine tune 17000ft’s MIS System
  • Continuously follow up with field teams for reports and data from program activities across intervention regions
  • Conduct regular review of data collected and share program related information on achievements, gaps and improvements with Program Directors and Executive Leadership
  • Build Dashboards and Live Reports for use by Senior Management and Program Directors to enable better data driven decision making processes
  • Work closely with Program leadership to conduct mid-term and end-line reviews of programs

Issue based research:

  • Periodically develop research design, data collection tools, and analysis for issue based research on key issues related to 17000ft program interventions
  • Conduct analysis on data collected and draft quality analytical reports for different audiences
  • Participate as a member of the program development team for program quality improvement and implementation

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Post graduate degree in Economics, Research, Statistics from reputed University
  • 5 years’ experience of data analytics, monitoring systems, research and cost benefit analysis preferably in the development sector
  • Prior experience and advanced knowledge of managing databases and analytical software systems (MS Excel; MS Office; SSPMS)
  • Prior experience of working/volunteering in the development sector, research agencies or government institutions would be an advantage
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Passionate about ensuring equity in education for all children, regardless of geography
  • Willing to travel to field areas, in remote, rural and challenging settings to work with field teams
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment, and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization
  • Experience in management functions including planning, budgeting, financial management and quality documentation would be a plus
